Today is just like any other days. Boring, have a lot of school work, and a lot of words exchanges. Oh wait no. Today is not just anyday, it is the day that I officially becoming the second best at basketball in grade 7.
Today during lunch break, I declared a game against what was known as the best basketball player in grade 7---Felix. He was one of the Metro players, what they thought as the good, until I came. I tried not my best but only 75 percent to beat him with ease 3 to 2. He was weak and he was no longer good at basketball. He had a hard time getting through my defense. I also blocked about 5 of his shots due to his slowness of shooting. Right after my victory, I played against another good player. His name was Gurmmo, his basketball skills came right after Felix, in other words, he was worse. I beat him 3 to nothing because all he did was shoot 3 points that he could not make. He tried to get pass me, and trick me, but all he did at last was going back to the same spot he started with and took a shot. He wasted about 1 minute dribbling, and a change of a rejection by me. There were about 15 people who hung out with us three. They cheered for us, and they watched patiently. Because they all knew, that those two games, were the ones that would define the best player in grade 7. Some of them even yelled out to get a camera.
Right now, there is only one opponent in my way of becoming the legend. He is the person that respected me, taught me, hung out with me, and most important, cleared the path of my basketball career for me. He is Thanasi, my dearest teacher. He is an opponent, a teacher, but most importantly, a friend. I will clear my path, and all thanks to him, for teaching me. Thank you Thanasi.
